Champlin Man Invents A Way To Tell Fish Stories You Can Believe In

FishmobiThere’s finally a way to prove your fish stories aren’t just tall tales.

A Champlin man has designed an I-phone application that not only captures lifetime memories but may also become an important new tool in the serious angler’s tackle box.

FishMobi is a mobile fishing journal app that allows anglers to instantly record information about every fish they catch. Anglers can immediately take a picture of their prize, record its length and weight, and enter other data such as lure used, water depth, visibility and temperature. FishMobi takes over from there, automatically recording GPS coordinates, time and date, current weather conditions, lunar information and much more.

FishMobi is a powerful tool for anglers who want detailed information about where, when and how they caught their fish. FishMobi automatically tracks the GPS location with Google maps and sets the waypoint of favorite spots for the next fishing trip. Every catch is displayed in the fish finder and links back to detailed information entered in the electronic journal, as well as complete weather condition data automatically recorded by FishMobi.

FishMobi also makes it fun and easy for recreational anglers to create a complete digital journal of their fishing memories. And with just a few taps the proof of their fishing prowess can be immediately sent from the boat or lakeshore directly to Facebook friends or email (without giving away the exact location of your catch).

Because anglers often have their hands full while fishing, FishMobi inventor Chris Karls designed the app with a special feature that turns it on or off with a simple shake of the phone. The father of three young children, Chris uses FishMobi to record all of his family’s fishing adventures. His brother, an avid angler, uses it to track important data on every fish he catches (even the little ones).
